ASX movers, explained
Which ASX mining stocks moved the most this week?
The boards above, on the Mining tab with the Week view selected. They rank by percentage move over the last five trading days and are rebuilt after each ASX close, so the answer changes daily rather than being a snapshot of the day an article was written.
What counts as a mover here?
A company has to have traded enough for the move to mean something. A 300% day on four hundred dollars of turnover is a quote, not a move, so there is a minimum turnover floor and companies below it never reach a board. This is also why our boards are shorter than a raw sorted list — the rows that would pad them out are the ones worth least.
Why weekly and monthly rather than today?
Because a daily gainers list is already published by half a dozen sites with live intraday prices, and because a week is the period over which a drill result or a trial readout actually shows up in a price. The move you want to understand is rarely the one that happened in the last four hours.
What does "moved with no news" mean?
A company whose price moved hard over the period without lodging an announcement that explains it. It is not an accusation of anything — companies move on sector prices, index changes and other people’s news all the time. It is a list of moves whose reason is not in the company’s own filings, which is a reasonable thing to want to know before you go looking.
Are these live prices?
No, and nothing here pretends otherwise. The figures are measured to an ASX close and every board states the date it was built. If you need live intraday prices, use a broker or an exchange feed.
Do I need an account to see these?
No. These boards are free to everyone, with no sign-in and no payment, and they are not a preview of something else. An account adds your own watchlist and the catalyst timeline behind it; it does not unlock a longer version of this page.
